IHC Research Capability Statement
Overview: InSiGHt Health Consulting is a public health consulting firm registered in Nigeria and has been in operation since 2004. Our spectrum of services span through; programme research, health financing, health programming, health service delivery strengthening, health and safety, and in country service support.
Capability: Our research unit is one of our core competencies in programme support. We are experienced in research design, implementation and evaluation. Our capability covers design of research approach, implementation of data collection, data analysis and management. We are able to leverage our nation-wide pool of research assistants and data collectors for wide coverage, local context and efficiency.
We have implemented several researches using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, and case studies. We design programme assessments, monitoring approaches, evaluations, and impact assessments. These quantitative assessments include surveys, target population assessment, market research, and health facilities assessment. We conduct desk reviews and secondary data sourcing and analysis; design and implement key informant and in-depth interviews, stakeholders’ engagement, and focused group discussions with different levels of stakeholders and target populations.
Method: Once we understand the research needs, we apply our expertise to design the most appropriate method to answer research questions. As part of our research approach, we implement paper-based and electronic-based qualitative and quantitative data collection.
For our quantitative researches, we use SPSS, STATA, Excel and other applications for data management and analysis; and for the qualitative researches, we use NVIVO for data categorization and analysis.
Ethical compliance is a requirement for research activities, and our research team hold relevant ethical certifications for research. It is our practise to interface with the research regulatory authorities for compliance and authorization to conduct research. Our team develop the protocols and study design to apply for ethical compliances for specific researches. The approved ethical compliance protocol is applied for the training of data collectors or research assistants to ensure alignment with all ethical considerations.
Expertise: Our key research personnel are qualified and experienced researchers and statistical data analysts. They have a minimum of a master’s degree and have been engaged in several study designs and implementations of both qualitative and quantitative researches. In addition, our pool of data collectors, research assistants, and consultants across the country gives us the leverage for any research implementation.
